2009 ALEXANDER VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Wine Description
The black cherry and cassis fruit aromas are infused with inviting notes of cedar, cinnamon, clove and vanilla. The rich fruit flavors and texture of black currant and cherry reduction sauce are enhanced with notes of bay leaf and red and black pepper. The firm tannins provide the structure for this wine's enjoyment now and for years to come.

Winemaker Notes
Situated in the northern most part of Sonoma County, the Alexander Valley provides a long growing season with the warm days required for ripening world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 vintage was quite even tempered and allowed the grapes to develop ripe fruit flavors and fine tannin structure. The grapes were harvested in mid-October, fermented warm on skins, then pressed and aged in barrels for nearly two years before blending and bottling.

Food Recommendations
This rich Cabernet is the ideal partner for grilled and roasted meats or for savory mushroom dishes.
